Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of TurkishLocal.com and its related services (collectively, the "Platform"), operated by TurkishLocal. By creating an account, listing a business, joining our affiliate program, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. What TurkishLocal Is

TurkishLocal is a curated directory and discovery platform connecting travelers and local customers with verified businesses across Türkiye — including but not limited to hospitality, dining, transportation, and experience providers. TurkishLocal is not a party to any transaction, reservation, or agreement between a user and a listed business. We do not own, operate, manage, or control any listed business, and we do not guarantee the availability, quality, safety, or legality of any listed business's goods or services.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We use passwordless (email link) and third-party (Google) authentication; you are responsible for securing access to the email address or account associated with your login method.

4. Business Listings

Businesses may be listed on the Platform either by direct registration or through information gathered from publicly available sources (including Google Places). An unclaimed listing does not imply any relationship, endorsement, or agreement between TurkishLocal and the listed business. A business may claim its listing by completing our verification process. By submitting or claiming a listing, you represent that you are authorized to act on behalf of the business and that all information you provide is accurate, current, and not misleading.

TurkishLocal reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to approve, reject, edit, suspend, or remove any listing, claim, or content that violates these Terms, is fraudulent, misleading, or otherwise objectionable, at any time and without prior notice.

5. Subscriptions, Boosts, and Payments

Businesses may subscribe to Standard or VIP membership plans, and may purchase additional visibility ("Boost") placements, at the prices displayed at the time of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time through your Business Center; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and no partial refunds are issued for the remainder of a paid period except as described in our Refund Policy. All payments are processed by our third-party payment processor (Stripe); TurkishLocal does not store your full payment card details.

We reserve the right to change subscription and Boost pricing at any time. Price changes will not affect an already-paid billing period but may apply to subsequent renewals, with reasonable advance notice provided through the Platform or by email.

6. Affiliate Program

The TurkishLocal Affiliate Program is free to join. Affiliates earn commission on qualifying referrals in accordance with the commission structure displayed in the Affiliate Center at the time of referral, which may be updated from time to time with reasonable notice for future referrals. Commission is paid only on completed, verified conversions and is subject to fraud review. TurkishLocal reserves the right to withhold or reverse commission attributable to fraudulent, abusive, or self-referral activity, and to suspend or terminate an affiliate's participation in the program at its discretion. Participation in the Affiliate Program does not create an employment, agency, partnership, or joint venture relationship between you and TurkishLocal.

7. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information about a business or yourself;
• • Attempt to claim a business you are not authorized to represent;
• • Manipulate reviews, rankings, referrals, or analytics through fraudulent means;
• • Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access or extract data from the Platform without authorization;
• • Interfere with or disrupt the security or integrity of the Platform;
• • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.

8. Intellectual Property

The Platform, including its design, logos, text, graphics, and software, is owned by TurkishLocal and protected by intellectual property laws. Businesses retain ownership of the content and media they upload, but grant TurkishLocal a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, reproduce, and distribute that content on the Platform and in related marketing, for as long as the listing remains active.

9. Third-Party Content and Services

The Platform may display information sourced from third parties, including Google Places, and may link to third-party websites and services, including TurkishFriend and TurkishMind. TurkishLocal is not responsible for the accuracy, content, or practices of any third-party source or service, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.

10. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any listing information is complete, accurate, or current. Your use of any listed business's goods or services is solely between you and that business, at your own risk.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TurkishLocal and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Platform, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. TurkishLocal's total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the greater of one hundred euros (€100) or the amount you paid to TurkishLocal in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TurkishLocal from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your listing content, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account or any listing at our discretion, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to the Platform, other users, or third parties. You may close your account at any time by contacting us.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Istanbul, Türkiye, except where applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform or by email at least fourteen (14) days before taking effect. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
